, an original, true vintage, Marx Toy, pressed steel Pan American World Airways / Pan Am / PAA Douglas DC-6B. Airplane from the late 1940s or early 1950s, with wood / wooden wheels. Interesting to note the American flag on the tail is the 48-star flag! Airplane measures about 22" cockpit to tail, 28" wingtip to wing tip, and roughly 7" height, depending on how the aircraft is tilted. It weighs about 3 lbs. without packaging. Given condition issues, its an an opportunity to buy one of these classic, pressed steel aircraft from the Golden Age of aviation, at a reduced price!
There are four shipping options, including local pick-up/delivery within a 50 - 75 mile radius of Madison, WI. Otherwise, select from USPS Priority, UPS Ground, or FedEx Home Delivery. Choosing whichever is most convenient and economical for you. Please note shipping costs are set by the carrier relative to the weight, size, and travel distance of the package. I do not charge handling, make no profit on shipping, and will refund any significant overage on shipping.
For conditions, please review photos closely using the magnifying tool or zoom in. Pan American World Airways N6519C pressed steel, DC-6B by Marx Toys, in used condition, with age, use, and storage related wear. Most notably, the front landing gear/tire unit is missing, as are two full propellers, and 1/3 of one propeller. Some rusting and scratches throughout. Rear wooden wheels remain intact, and while there are some issues with the decals, all remain intact and legible. Decals on the left are in better shape than decals on the right. The wings and fuselage could potentially detach, as I have seen in other photos. As it is now, the wings/fuselage connection is loose, but does not come off. Vertical blade on tail slightly bent. Despite the condition issues, it still looks nice, and could definitely make a nice rehab project for someone who's interested. If you have questions or would like more photos, please ask!
